    PARAÍSO: AMI.LCAR - Djam Neguin

AMI.LCAR is a show inspired by the life and work of one of the most remarkable leaders of all time ⎯ Amílcar Cabral. In an exercise to extend his legacy, the artist Djam Neguin fictionalizes episodes of his existence and his emancipatory, anti-colonial and ecological ideology, using multimedia devices and artificial intelligence, tensioning the real and the virtual, the human and the post-human. In a show specially created for the celebrations of the centenary of Amílcar Cabral's birth.

The show was created using documentary and bibliographical analysis, conversations and interviews, in which the central moments of his existence and his main ideologies and achievements will be pointed out, which will be the basis for the dramaturgical composition of the creation. The aesthetic (and innovative) challenge was to reconstruct Cabral's image using Artificial Intelligence software, through the virtual three-dimensional composition of his figure.

In AMI.LCAR we have the opportunity to remember the legacy of this figure of political thought and historical impact in the definitive break with the Portuguese colonial state, giving impetus to the reparation and organization of the emancipatory struggles that led to the liberation of the Peoples of Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.

Djam Neguin is a multidisciplinary artist from the new generation of contemporary Cape Verdean creatives. He is also involved in the production of the Kontornu International Contemporary Dance Festival and is the driving force behind the virtual project Rede de Dança da CPLP (CPLP Dance Network) and the Cidade da Praia Dance Show.
