An album by one of the great composers of our time would already generate undeniable curiosity. But when you add to that the fact that we've had to wait almost ten years to hear a new work by Ryoji Ikeda, the anticipation rises. Ultratronics, the Japanese artist's most recent album, was released in December 2022 on codex I edition, the label he launched in 2018, and German label noton. On this album, Ikeda works on material recorded between 1989 and 1999 and more recent compositions (2013 to 2022). It's a cross between a return to his origins and a reflection on his most recent work by a creator who, over the last two decades, has also established himself as a visual artist. ultratronics [live set] crosses these two universes of expression for Ryoji Ikeda - electronic music and digital art. After its premiere in Tokyo in 2022, it will embark on a European tour in 2024, with a stop at INDEX.
