6€Feldman, Debussy e Stravinsky - By Ars Ad HocIn the third concert of this quarter's Counterpoint Cycle, Ars Ad Hoc will make its debut in our city with a program that combines the quintet with clarinet by the American Morton Feldman (1926-87) - a mature work that reflects Feldman's taste for exploring textures long extended in time - with two unavoidable works of modernism, presented here in transcriptions for pierrot quintet: Debussy's famous Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun (1894) (in a score transcribed by Tim Mulleman) and a suite dating from 1921 that Stravinsky himself elaborated from his ballet Pétrouchka (transcribed by Ars Ad Hoc flautist Ricardo Carvalho).
Ars Ad Hoc is a chamber music group, created in 2018, which has stood out for its strong commitment to new music, asserting itself by the depth of its interpretations and the dexterity with which it circulates between the latest musical creation and works from the great repertoire.
Contraponto is a cycle dedicated to 20th and 21st century composition. Over the course of six annual sessions, we invite local, national and international ensembles and composers to guide us through the music of one of the most fertile periods in terms of new ideas and forms.
