Cineconcert: Pierre Bastien and Japanese animated shorts

This show came from an invitation by Bozar - Center for Fine Arts in Brussels (Belgium) and the Nuits Sonores Festival (France), which Pierre Bastien now presents in Braga in a unique cineconcert, in which he accompanies a selection of animated short films from the 1920s and 1930s. This poetic show celebrates the joy of playing, improvising and inventing, immersing the audience in an enchanting atmosphere through films from the collection of Japan's National Film Archive. 
Since the 1970s, Pierre Bastien has been building his machines, creating veritable orchestras of musical automatons that accompany him in his live performances. Having collaborated with artists such as Aphex Twin, Pierrick Sorin and Issey Miyake, Bastien has created a unique sound universe which he has presented at exhibitions and festivals all over the world.
