In the Contexto Cycle, we propose a series of talks in which we take a show from Theatro Circo's program and bring together artists and people whose areas of activity intersect with the themes and issues addressed in that work. This time, the conversation will take place between choreographer Mariana Tengner Barros and actress Carolina Amaral, curated and moderated by Andreia Garcia. 

In this third moment of the cycle, the word is matriz. Coming from the Latin matrix (mother, womb), the suffix ix implies the feminine gender. Matriz is this meeting at the source that gives rise to a conversation which, like the etymology of the word, brings with it what generates, creates, founds, conceives. In this Contexto we will talk about the place of women in art, about metamorphosis, about cartographies of gesture and creation, about invisibility, about a place of speech, about experiences and challenges. Mariana Tengner Barros presented at Theatro Circo Threshold, a choreographic creation based on the enigma of the Cromlech of the Almendres.
