Anfitrião, a comedy according to Molière, is a pure exercise in intelligence and pleasure, between the refinement of language, between the plausible and the fantasy, it is always the power of the imagination that is proposed. Amphitryon is a very personal reading of myth and classical texts, in a comedy only apparently about love deceptions and mistaken identities, which satirically tackles themes such as human nature, desire and morality.
Heinrich von Kleist (1777-1811) was one of the most important German writers at the turn of the 19th century. Poet, playwright, novelist, short story writer and journalist, Kleist is recognized as one of the greatest names in universal literature. His influence has extended to the field of aesthetic philosophy, but also to literature, and he is considered one of the greatest figures in European literature.
